The 10th annual Tour de Scottsdale held last weekend starting in DC Ranch and benefitting the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, raised almost $50,000 through cyclist registration, sponsorship and donations.
The Tour was presented by Lexus and hosted by the DC Ranch Community Council brought nearly 2,000 cyclists total, including 650 in the 30 mile ride and over 1,200 in the 70 mile ride.
Eric Salstrand of Phoenix and Sally Aston of Goodyear each won the 70-mile Tour in the men’s and women’s divisions. Salstrand’s winning time was 2:34:56, and Aston’s winning time was 2:35:53.
For the 30-mile Tour, Louis Spencer-Smith of Flagstaff and Kathy Connolly of Phoenix each won the men’s and women’s divisions. Spencer-Smith’s finishing time was 1:10:18, and Connolly’s finishing time was 1:13:14. The top 3 finishers in both divisions were awarded merchandise prizes.

The Tour de Scottsdale circles the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, and winds through Phoenix, Carefree, Fountain Hills and North Scottsdale before stopping at the finish line on Market Street at DC Ranch.
