On November 21st from 10am-2pm the Desert Foothills Land Trust presents Desert Discovery Day. This is a day outdoors in Cave Creek that will allow children of all ages to explore the preserve, learn about life in our desert, and examine the geology and archaeology underlying this magnificent landscape. The purpose for of the day is to share the beauty of the Sonoran Desert and the Jewel of the Creek with the community in a way that encourages support for conservation efforts and participation in other outdoor activities. There will be a scavenger hunt along the Henry Dalton Trail and children will receive a stamp at each statement and a goody bag when they collect all the stamps. There will also be live animals, crafts, and free refreshments.
The Jewel is located on Spur Cross Road, 3.9 miles north of Cave Creek Road.
