McDowell Mountain Marketplace opened Bashas’ Supermarket in May of 2002. This local, family owned chain was originally opened by Najeeb and Najeeby Basha in 1932 with the first grocery in Chandler, AZ. The chain is now run by two of their children, Ike and Eddie Basha, who have grown the chain to include 153 stores employing 10,500 people around Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tucson. The Bashas’ family of stores also includes AJ’s Fine Foods (also located in McDowell Mountain Ranch), and Food City.
Bashas’ offers groceries and so much more! Including the Cub House (a while-you-shop childcare), on staff florist, natural food department, and in-house wine steward, pharmacy, taco grill, and an Italian kitchen! Take home a freshly made entree made on site by of the full-time chefs. Believe it or not, you can even order your full Thanksgiving or Holiday Meal already prepared!
There is also a Wells Fargo branch located in the store, as well as a bakery and cafe. Drop the kids in Cub Care, do your shopping, visit the bank, grab a coffee and an Italian meal to-go all in one location and you’re ready to head home for dinner in your McDowell Mountain Ranch Home!
