WestWorld of Scottsdale

Since the annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show began in 1955 it has set the pace in the Arabian horse world. The first show was held on the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, providing a beautiful setting for a horse show, proving it has been a first class show from the beginning. After the show’s start at the Arizona Biltmore, Arabian horse lover and Scottsdale ranch owner Ann McCormick devoted 150 acres of her ranch and made it into the horse facility known as Paradise Park. The park served the needs of the show from 1956-1968. (After Anne’s death in 1969, a portion of her ranch was sold and became what we know as today McCormick Ranch.) Since 1969 the show has been held at Westworld of Scottsdale in DC Ranch and has grown from 50 horses to nearly 2400 horses. The event brings top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world competing for a chance at a win. A win in Scottsdale can mean big money in the breeding barns.

The 2017 annual event begins Thursday, February 16th and concludes Sunday, February 26th. Complete event and competition schedules can be found on the website: www.scottsdaleshow.com
