Canal Convergence at the Scottsdale Waterfront is a free, four-day event with music, large scale interactive art, food trucks and fun and will begin Thursday, February 26th and run through Sunday, March 1st. If you live near Arcadia, you don’t want to miss this giant, colorful playground of illuminated, floating art on the canal. The art is composed of more than 100 raised pads that light up as people run, jump, skip and stand on them. Smaller groups create a small splash of color, larger groups create a larger splash. Many artists in the area of the Waterfront participate in the event as well, displaying their art for all to see and purchase. In addition, there will be a community canal bike-path ride tour, live music, tables of hand-made crafts, make and take home art workshops, and the debut of a wine-and-beer garden on Friday and Saturday evening.
About 40,000 people are expected to attend this year. The event is free and runs 5-10 pm Thursday, 12-10 pm Friday and Saturday, and 10 am to 5 pm Sunday.
