Flagstaff Extreme – Explore AZ!

Escape the heat this summer to experience nature up close and personal with the entire family at Flagstaff Extreme! Some of my favorite childhood memories are times spent outdoors. Flagstaff Extreme provides a safe, fun, physical and unique outdoor experience in the trees. The Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course and Zipline course have given my kids and our family memories to last a lifetime! Last summer we challenged ourselves on the Adventure Course, this summer we tried out the new Zipline Course and we LOVED both of them!

Adult Adventure Course

Flagstaff Extreme’s Adventure Course consists of 5 courses, each containing a mixture of approximately 10-17 different obstacles and zip lines. The obstacles range from rope swings, scrambling walls, hanging nets, wobbly bridges and suspended “surprises”.
The skill level and height of each circuit are marked using a color-coded system indicating the challenge based on elevation and difficulty. After a 30 minute training session, you begin on the GREEN course where you get comfortable with the equipment and moving through each obstacle. After the GREEN course the courses increase in elevation and skill.

GREEN = Minimum Elevation/Minimum Skill
SILVER = Medium Elevation/Medium Skill
BLUE = Medium Elevation/Medium/Advanced Skill
RED = Advanced Elevation/Advanced Skill
BLACK = Advanced Elevation/Advanced Skill

Kid’s Adventure Course

There is one children’s course at Flagstaff Extreme that is designed for children ages 7 to 11. Parents and observers can use the areas along the course that will allow you to walk and observe your children as they progress through the course.

Each child is scheduled into a brief group training session. At the training session, the child will be fitted into a harness and Flagstaff Extreme’s Guides will show the child how to remain attached to safety lines and how to use the child-sized ziplines. Once the child demonstrates that they can appropriately use the equipment, they can begin the YELLOW (Kid’s) course, supervised by the parent from the ground.

Adventure Zipline Course

Over 30 ziplines make up the Adventure Ziplines at Flagstaff Extreme. The Zipline Course is not as challenging as the Adventure Course, but it is still not for the faint of heart. The ziplines are suspended 15 to 80 feet high in the tall Ponderosa Pines! The courses includes ladders and bridges and is an active, not easy, zipline experience. The course is self-guided, and each guest receives training to prepare themselves for their day of ziplining adventure before the 5 minute walk to the course.

Flagstaff Extreme is located in Flagstaff’s Fort Tuthill County Park. Visit their website at flagstaffextreme.com for more information.
