Flo’s, as locals affectionately call this Chinese restaurant, is known for its simple, healthy Chinese fare. Flo’s has been spicing up the Chinese restaurant scene since 1997 when Flo Chan opened her first restaurant in Scottsdale near McDowell Mountain Ranch. Flo’s is no ordinary restaurant. This place is truly a neighborhood dining experience, and Flo herself can often be seen mixing and mingling with her customers. Her regulars will tell you that she is committed to making sure your experience is complete and satisfying. Flo takes it personally if you are not happy with your dining experience. Flo’s chef, Danny Lee, travels to the Far East each year to catch up on the newest and freshest food ideas. He brings them back to Flo and they come up with a menu that is always being updated, but the fan favorites stay the same. When visiting Flo’s you must have the tried and true Chinese Style Lettuce Cups. These are a mainstay of Flo’s and they are delicious. Each person can build their own wrap with chicken, water chestnuts, mushrooms and onions. Another favorite is the Hot and Sour Soup. It’s spicy, but delicious. Something unique that the chef came up with based on his travels is the Chinese Mapo Tofu. If you prefer a vegetarian dish, this is the one for you. There is a wide variety of chicken, beef, pork and seafood dishes as well.
Flo’s has an extensive list of beer and wine, and they also have a $5 lunch special every Saturday (this is a favorite of my mother-in-law. She and her husband go every Saturday!) Also, don’t miss Happy Hour every night from 3-7 pm where you can get some great deals on appetizers and drinks.
Flo’s is located in McDowell Mountain Village so go out tonight and grab some Chinese food! You will be glad you did. 15027 N. Thompson Peak Parkway
