McDowell Mountain Ranch Skate Park & Aquatic Center

MMR Aquatic CenterThe Aquatic Center at McDowell Mountain Ranch opened in 2007 and it has been a very successful and popular addition to the North Scottsdale area. There are three parts that make up the Aquatic Center and they are the aquatic complex, activities area, and skate park.

The aquatic complex consists of a 25 yard competition pool with lanes for lap swimming, a diving pool with two high-dives, and a leisure pool with a children’s play area, a 25 foot tall water slide and a lazy river.

In addition, there is a 15,000 square foot community and activities center.  The center hosts a fitness area with a variety of activities such as dance and fitness classes (Zuma, yoga, and aerobics), along with swimming classes too. There is also meeting space and offices along with locker rooms, showers, restrooms and concessions.

The last part to the complex is the very celebrated skateboarding park. On any given weekend, you might find local skateboarders using the skating features such as the fun box, banked hip, hubba ledge and last but not least the ever popular grind ledge. There is also a spectator viewing area with restrooms and concessions as well.

There is no shortage of things to do at the McDowell Mountain Ranch Park and Aquatic Center. Now, grab your towel, your long-board, and get moving!
