The Phoenix Zoo’s Prowl and Play event on August 6th will be busy with crafts, water play, costumed pirates and princesses, games, creature features, a treasure hunt, a magician and music. An ordinary visit to the zoo a will become a real adventure!
Th Snow Queen, Ice Princess and Beauty will be spending time at the Stonehouse Pavilion to greet attendees and take photos, while a pack of pirates will be roaming the zoo grounds. Pirate Jolly Roger will be doing 30-minute magic performances at 6:30 pm and 7:15 pm. Swashbuckling 10-minute pirate shows will also be going on throughout the evening.
Along Lemur Lane, you will be forced to “walk the plank” or you can try your hand at pirate games or a treasure hunt. There will also be a craft station where children can make pirate patches and hooks. Also, be sure to check out the water features lakeside: the water slides and the zoo’s Yakulla Caverns and Leapin’ Lagoon. Along the Lakeside Lawn will also be DJ Rockin’ Rob, bubble blowing, hula hooping and sidewalk chalk fun.
The Prowl and Play held in June was a big hit so Phoenix Zoo staff are expecting a large crowd again. For more information, visit phoenixzoo.org.
