Ready to get your Cowboy On? Try going to College!

“My heroes have always been Cowboys” – Willie Nelson

Have you ever had a dream of being a cowboy, riding on the open range, herding cattle, ropin’ and ridin’? Well, your dream can come true at the Arizona Cowboy College, located at 30208 N. 152nd Street in North Scottsdale. A family owned and operated business since 1969, they teach city slickers how to be a real cowboy and help you experience life on a working ranch. It is the only school of its kind in the world, and it goes beyond just an ordinary dude ranch. Never been on a horse before? No problem. The wranglers at cowboy college claim they can get anyone riding like a pro within a few days, and almost everyone who has attended this special place claims it to be one of the most exciting experiences of their lives.

They will not only teach you to ride, but you can learn how to herd and rope cattle in their quarterly round-ups. You will learn about all facets of Western riding such as basic horsemanship, trail, gymkhana, reining, ranch/cattle work, and even shoeing. The Arizona Cowboy College offers programs varyingdenise horse from one-day sessions to full week sessions with three-day sessions in between. All sessions offer meals during the program, and the programs lasting more than one day offer accommodations in the bunkhouse. They also offer a summer kids program and private or group lessons. If you are looking for a true Western experience, Arizona Cowboy College is just the place for a city slicker like you.
