FullSizeRender-2Blue Star Memorial marker was installed at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park on October 30th, 2014. The marker honors servicemen and servicewomen. Scottsdale will dedicate the memorial marker on November 11th during its Veterans Day program. With the support of the City of Scottsdale, the Scottsdale Garden Club partnered with the Old Town Scottsdale Garden Club to raise $14,000 toward the memorial. Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane suggested the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park as the site for the memorial. The garden clubs also wanted it at the park because of its popularity. An educational plaque under the Blue Star sign explains its purpose.
