Water Conservation Workshops – Presented by the City of Scottsdale

Scottsdale Water is offering free water efficiency workshops this fall. The workshops are designed to help residents learn how to use water more efficiently in their homes and yards.

Plant Something and learn how much and how often to water!
Take control of your landscape watering with step-by-step instructions. You’ll get hands-on practice setting the timer on an irrigation controller.

No one likes going hungry—especially not the birds visiting your yard! Learn how and why native plants are critical to wildlife… and how to select the right plant for the right place. Discover Audubon’s new search-able database of nearly 3,000 native plants and trees and unlock the potential of your yard to be beautiful, low maintenance and bird friendly!

Why not be surrounded by color year-round? Landscape plants provide color through different seasons.  Learn how to complement their function in your garden, and fill periodic color gaps, in fun and bright ways to keep your landscape vibrant throughout the year.

Plant Something and nourish it with rainwater harvesting!
An expert from Watershed Management Group will teach you how to use passive rainwater harvesting to create a series of berms, basins, and swales that will direct rainwater to beneficial use for plants while reducing flooding and erosion in your yard. Learn how these practices will slow the flow of the water, spread it across the areas where it’s needed, and sink it into the ground.

Simple things you need to know to make your drip irrigation system efficient and easy to maintain. Irrigation Specialist Jeff Lee will show you how to design and install a drip irrigation system.

All workshops will be held at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library Auditorium in Downtown Scottsdale located at 3839 N Drinkwater Blvd. Click here to registrar online. Those who register are guaranteed a spot, walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows.
