Let’s be real, the boundaries of Arcadia seem to move depending on who you ask. An Arcadia real estate agent may draw the borders differently than an Arcadia resident. Or a family that live in the heart of Arcadia may have a different idea of the east and west edges when compared to a family that lives across the street of that border. Let’s break down the Arcadia boundaries from a couple different perspectives.
Arcadia High School Boundaries
First we’ll look at Arcadia High School. The Scottsdale Unified School Distrcit issues official boundary guidelines. According to them, the high school pulls students from…
From Lincoln Drive and 40th Street: south alignment to Thomas Road,
east to 68th Street, north to Arizona Canal, northeast along Arizona
Canal to Scottsdale Road, north to Camelback Road, west to 68th
Street, north to Chaparral Road, west to Invergordon Road, northwest
over the ridge of Camelback Mountain to Echo Canyon subdivision,
north along the wall on the west side of Echo Canyon subdivision to
McDonald Drive, East to Tatum Boulevard, north to Lincoln Drive, west
to 40th Street alignment.
If you are familiar with the area, that was simple to follow. For everyone else, we added it to a map. Remember, this is the Arcadia High School boundary lines. REALTORS® have a slightly different shape.
Is Arcadia Shrinking?
I went to an open house in Paradise Valley last week and as always struck up a conversation with the real estate agent. It quickly led to the low inventory of Arcadia homes for sale, and we started to talk about the boundaries. Her Arcadia boundary was Camelback Rd south to Indian School and 44th St east to 68th St. She left out everything south of Indian School and everything north of Camelback? I disagreed citing that even the subdivision Arcadia Estates is north of Camelback Rd. Needless to say, my definition of the Arcadia limits is slightly larger than this, but smaller than the school district.
Where is Arcadia, AZ
Arcadia is in Phoenix, AZ just south of the town of Paradise Valley, and west of Old Town Scottsdale. When our clients tell us they want to live in Arcadia, we show them homes between 40th St and 68th St from Camelback Mountain south to Thomas. As soon as they share what kind of features they are looking for, large lots, pool, mountain views, we get more focused, but it always starts with the same boundaries for Arcadia.
