#1 Top Rated School
Copper Ridge earned an “A” rating from the Arizona Department of Education for the past four years. With the guidance of Principal Dr. Michelle Otstot, the school is now pursuing recognition from the Arizona Education Foundation as an A+ School of Excellence. The whole school has been working through the process for nearly a year, submitting information about programs, parent and community involvement, and commitment to excellence.
#2 BYOT-Bring Your Own Technology
Students are encouraged to bring their own mobile devices-iPads, laptops, smartphones-to use the information resources. The program seeds to develop responsible behaviors and increase students’ knowledge base, critical thinking skills, and creativity with active technology learning. In addition, every classroom has two desktop computers, a computer for the teacher and a Smart Board. There are also four computer labs, six mobile labs with laptops, a mobile iPad cart and a 3D printer.
#3 The CRS Way: Character, Responsibility, Safety
The CRS Way is a set of school-wide expectations to help students develop positive behavior and redirect misbehavior. The expectations are based on the PBIS: Positive Behavior Interventions and Support framework.
#4 STEM-Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Copper Ridge is one of only twelve Arizona school to be selected as an APS STEM-Focus School of the Future. In partnership with Northern Arizona University, it benefited from teacher-leader iPads and school-wide professional development training.
