Excerpt from the March 2022 issue of DC Ranch News about the new trailhead in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve:
“This beautiful trailhead was designed by Architect Phil Weddle of Weddle and Gilmore Black Rock Studios in Scottsdale. Mr. Weddle has done work in the Preserve before and his work is seen at Browns Ranch and Gateway Trailheads.
The clean angular lines of the Pima Dynamite building and rusted veneer allow the structure to blend more into the landscape and reduces the focus on the two major powerlines that converge at this location. After a while many users ‘forget’ about the powerlines and pay less attention to them as they enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the trails that let them experience this spectacular resource.”
