If you have a child who attends school, you may already be familiar with The Desert Center of Pinnacle Peak. Located at 8950 E. Pinnacle Peak Road, it’s hard to tell how very important this little spot in the desert is. The mission of The Desert Center is to educate children about the Sonoran Desert and what the future holds for the desert and the thousands of children who visit each year. When students visit the center they will be taught about desert safety and survival, animals, including live snakes and tortoises, history of the Native Americans that once survived in the Sonoran Desert, and rocks, minerals and plants that inhabit the area. The Desert Center is always looking for volunteers, so if you would like more information about volunteering or just visiting the Desert Center with a group, contact Desert Center of Pinnacle Peak.
