Wild at Heart, an all-volunteer organization which is dedicated to the conservation and preservation of Arizona’s native wildlife located in Cave Creek. They rescue, rehabilitate, and release birds of prey that have been injured or orphaned. They also relocated displaced burrowing owls.
The Cave Creek facility also provides educational programs, manages habitat enhancement projects, and manages species recovery programs.
Owned and operated by Cave Creek couple Sam and Bob Fox, “Wild at Heart’s home, tucked down a quiet dusty street in the Lone Mountain area is surrounded by desert trees and towering sahuaros. The grounds are neatly kept; the aviaries pristine. This well-shaded desert haven has been a home and a place of respite to thousands of injured raptors.” Read more about this local Cave Creek organization, and other North Scottsdale articles in the August 2013 issue of North Scottsdale Lifestyle.
