Top Three Music Studios/Performing Arts Academies in North Phoenix/North Scottsdale:
North Phoenix and North Scottsdale are home to many talented kids, who need a place to hone and display those talents. Here are our top three music studios and performing arts academies, in no particular order:
Bender Performing Arts, located just north of the 101, on Beardsley Road. Kevin Bender, the owner/director, enjoys having a positive, nurturing environment for any student to learn and grow. Moreover, Kevin tells us, “We love the family environment of our community and the support of the arts as an important, integral part of a child’s development.” Check out Bender’s 41st annual dance recital June 7th-11th at 7 p.m. each evening at Shadow Mountain High School’s auditorium.
Another fantastic option for residents of North Phoenix and North Scottsdale is VOICES Music & Acting Studio. As Projects Coordinator Samantha Hazelwood explains, “Our studio motto is ‘Inspiring Creativity through self-expression’ and our focus has always been to cater to the growth of our students in a safe and fun atmosphere. We have insanely talented instructors with amazing educational and performance backgrounds, and the friendliest front desk team around.” Be sure to check out the summer camp programs at VOICES this summer, as well as free 15-minute long introductory lessons for voice, guitar, ukulele, piano and drums.
Located on Cave Creek Road and just north of Rose Garden is the Desert Ridge Music Academy. Desert Ridge Music Academy stands apart from others, according to owners Dave Gary and Charge Michael. They elaborate, “Most lesson facilities love to nickel-and-dime their customers to death. Some won’t even let their students re-schedule a lesson! Not us. We are the only store in the valley that offers music lessons on your schedule, with no hidden fees, no registration fees or mandatory monthly fees. DRMA is also the only facility with its own built-in music venue. We offer free recitals for all of our students. We use this stage for jam sessions, clinics, and concerts as well. Real stage time allows our students to build confidence in their musical abilities.” They encourage early enrollment for the fall by signing up for music lessons by the first week of July.
