Did you know that for a short time a little bit of Hollywood was brought to the Scottsdale/Carefree area? In the late 1960’s, Carefree resident Dick van Dyke had the Carefree Studios built for the Dick Van Dyke show? Several movies and TV shows were filmed at the studio, which today is the site of The Summit shopping center. The early versions of what is now Legend Trail and Desert Mountain were created on this property and a few homes were built in the 1970’s on these remote properties.
