The January 2016 issue of DC Ranch News has an inspiring article about residents Les and Connie Seldin’s commitment to volunteer. “My father always taught me the importance of giving back to the community in which you live,” said retired Manhattan dentist Les Seldin. “It’s one of the best ways to feel like you’re part of that world. Donating your time and actively participating make you invested in the place you call home.” Once the Seldins moved to Arizona full time they committed themselves to helping at organizations focused on elder care. Connie is focused her time at Hospice of the Valley, while Les was recently elected to the Board of Directors at Foothills Caring Corps. “When you have a cause you feel strongly about, providing financial support is satisfying,” said Seldin. “But when you physically involve yourself, you get a much greater sense of fulfillment. You become a part of the organization and truly appreciate its purpose and value.”
