Carefree
is hoping to turn the town into the vibrant town center that it used to be. The town council recently announced that it is serious about enticing shoppers and diners to come back and visit Carefree. They are planning to put in events and amenities that will bring people into town. Back in the days before there was anything besides desert between Carefree and North Scottsdale, busloads of people would make day trips to visit the quaint town to the North. Nowadays, that has changed as Scottsdale has grown exponentially. Carefree is hoping to become a Mecca for tourists once again by adding more enticing shops, dining and entertainment to the town. The improvements so far that are planned to occur are splash pads for children, an expanded amphitheater with a better sound system, Wi-Fi in the town center, and the newly built Carefree Desert Gardens. The council is also heavily recruiting major shopping and dining establishments to join them.
