The Tour de Scottsdale is held on the 2nd Sunday in October every year. It offers both a 30 & 70 mile citizens ride to benefit the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy; a volunteer group that assists the City of Scottsdale in maintaining the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
When complete, the Preserve will encompass 36,400 acres, and comprise nearly one-third of Scottsdale’s total land mass, making it the largest urban preserve in the United States. The Scottsdale Cycling Festival has made a commitment to preservation of the McDowell Mountains and Sonoran Desert.
Both competitive races, and citizens ride are hosted by the DC Ranch Community Council. Read more about this special event, and all October events in DC Ranch in the current issue of Ranch News.
