Elise Fay shares with us how joining the Sibbach Team gave her the tools to grow her real estate business:
“Hi, my name is Elise Fay and I’m with the Sibbach Team and eXp Realty. So, I’ve been licensed since 2003, and in 2012 I was doing about 12 transactions for 2.5 million in volume. When I joined the team in 2013, three years later I did 33 transactions for ten and a half million, and three years after that I sold a little more than 70 homes for almost 25 million. So that was a boom! You always start out with a little bit of success, you have family and friends and people are excited to to share your story and give you some business. But I think sole agents fail to think of their business as a small business. They fail to think of themselves as a small business owner, so when Jeff Sibbach called, I thought about it for a while and I said “yes”. And that was a really big step because as a sole agent again you don’t want to give up anything, you love your autonomy. In my opinion, when an agent, their phone stops ringing, their business is a little slow or maybe they’ve asked themselves the same questions I’ve asked, they look for a team and their first instinct is “hey, this team will provide me with some leads.” I came for more than just leads, actually the leads were a perk, they were just a little benefit. I joined the team because I wanted to grow as a small business owner. I knew that there were a lot of other things about being a successful real estate agent that I did not know and that might be marketing, area expertise, market knowledge. When you’re a solo agent you only know what’s right in front of you and it’s kind of tunnel vision. When you join a team, a very successful team, you can look at from 10,000 feet above sea level, you have a broader perspective on what’s going on. So, joining the Sibbach Team, they afforded me that explosion and growth. I learned from their successes and their failures. So, I started from a higher bar. I think that’s really where business is right now in real estate is is teams and that’s how you can be the most successful and the best agent you can be.”
