Art and Vickie Semler share the hesitations they originally had about joining a real estate team and why they are glad they joined the Sibbach Team:
“We’re Art and Vicki Semler and we’ve been Realtors since 2004 as a husband and wife team. We’ve been married for 40 years and we know a lot about each other and what our strengths and weaknesses are, and we knew that we want to get to the next level. For us to get to the next level we knew we had to make some changes.
A team was not what we were looking for, we had a lot of negative connotations about what a team involved, including losing our identity as independent contractors and becoming more of an employee. But, then we met Jeff and we decided to give it a try, and six years later we’re still on the team and it’s been a very positive decision for us.
We didn’t lose our identity, we still run our own business, we have our own clients, at the same time we get leads from Jeff and Phil. They help us with so many things in our business. I think I’ve become a better Realtor because of my market knowledge from coming to team meetings, the coaching that we get along the way. It has really helped me and Art to expand our business and our knowledge and I feel like a much more competent Realtor. Well, I like the idea of the weekly meetings and how they keep it light and fun and they put a lot of content into the meetings that’s part of today’s reality. I like the idea that Jeff is a working Realtor so he stays on top of the markets. They help us with knowledge of today, but also how to develop a business plan for the future so we can always be moving forward, and I like that idea.
He definitely makes us better Realtors and we really enjoy being on his team. I don’t think that there are other teams that are run the same way as Phil and Jeff run this team and I think it’s a great advantage to them and to us. I don’t think we would ever have stayed on any other team, but this has really worked for us. It’s helped us actually grow our business every year that we’ve been with them and we feel that it’s going to continue that way because of the knowledge that they present to us and how they present it is uplifting. It’s also fun and we can bounce anything off of them to help us in our own business and they want our business to grow as much as they want their business to grow and we really enjoy that.”
