Berke Bakay is the current Director, President and Chief Executive of restaurant group Kona Grill, Inc. and is the current owner of Arizona’s own soccer team, Phoenix Rising Football Club.
Bakay has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Kona Grill since January 2012 and as a director of the company since October 2009.
In August of 2016, Arizona United soccer team founder Kyle Eng sold his majority share to an investment group led by Bakay. On November 28, 2016, the team was rebranded Phoenix Rising FC by the new ownership. A record crowd of 6,890 attended Phoenix Rising FC’s first game at their new soccer complex on March 25, 2017. The Phoenix Rising FC Soccer Complex is a soccer-specific stadium and training facility on the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community near Tempe.
Berke, with his wife Luisa and their family, make their home in beautiful Paradise Valley.
