Martin Hanzal is a professional hockey player who is from Czech. Hanzal was originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes and currently plays for the Dallas Stars. Hanzal called the north Scottsdale neighborhood of Grayhawk home for several years before being traded.
While playing for the Coyotes on April 12, 2012, Hanzal scored the game-winning goal in overtime of Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs against the Chicago Blackhawks. This gave the Coyotes a 3–2 victory and a 1–0 series lead. On February 27, 2017, in the midst of his ninth season with the Coyotes, Hanzal collected 26 points in 51 games before his time came to an end with Arizona. Later that same year in July, Hanzal as a first time free agent, signed a three-year contract with the Dallas Stars.
