Sibbach FamilyWhen I decided over a decade ago to become a full-time professional REALTOR® in Scottsdale, AZ I set a goal to be the “best realtor in Scottsdale”. As I look back now, more than $200M in home sales later, I had no idea what that meant when I started out. I was a novice… a green horn. My goal was as vague as could be. It wasn’t measurable, it wasn’t specific, and it wasn’t trackable. Now times have changed.

Market Share

When you’re fresh out of real estate school, this is such an intimidating phrase. Market share is something the old timers talked about, the veteran realtors. All I wanted to do was feed my family. Even though measuring market share was far off, I set out on a journey to capture some in North Scottsdale. We bought a home in the Grayhawk community and I started working as a REALTOR®.

Fast-forward to 2013, I sold more real estate in Grayhawk than any other agent. I was also told I sold the second most amount of homes in 85255 as well, although I don’t actively track that stat. 85255 includes communities such as Grayhawk, DC Ranch, Sonoran Hills, and Silverleaf, but my plan has been to become well-known as the best realtor in one before aggressively pursuing the others.

Customer Service

All realtors talk about this as a differentiating factor, so I’m hesitant to even bring it up. I don’t care to sound like the others, however I was paid a compliment this week by a new client that we met over the web in October that sums up what I’ve built the Sibbach Team to do.

“You have redefined what I can expect from my realtor when buying and selling my house.”

The genuine compliment from a family whose house we’re selling in Sonoran Hills so they can move into a large home in Grayhawk. It’s been a whirlwind of activity preparing their home and marketing on their behalf, but comments like that re-confirm we’re on the right path.

Focus

As cliche as it is… “one client at a time” is our focus. Whether we’re finding homes to buy that aren’t yet listed, or selling listings before they hit the MLS, our focus is to help sellers get the most money out of their homes and help buyers find the best home for the best price in the best area.

We’re on a great path right now. My goal to be the #1 team in Scottsdale based on sales volume is still a few years out, but we’re headed in the right direction.
