Cheyenne Traditional School is located in the Scottsdale Unified School District at 13636 N. 100th street. This K-8 school was established in response to the community desire to have a “back to basics” school. Principal Grace Stombres says that at Cheyenne, “learning and maximum class time go hand in hand. Each class is teacher directed, yet student focused. Cheyenne is a school of choice. Priority is given to the fundamental tools of learning in the core academic areas of phonics, reading, grammar, spelling and writing, math, history, geography and science. Students will be given the opportunities to apply those skills in meaningful, reinforcing ways.” Cheyenne Traditional is an A rated school and receives a 10/10 on greatschools.org.
Cheyenne utilizes the Spaulding Method for reading/phonics and Saxon Math. In addition, Cheyenne offers band/strings, music, choir, art, physical education, and technology.
