Explorer Middle School located in Desert Ridge at 22401 North 40th St Phoenix, AZ. Explorer is an Arizona Department of Education grade “A” school in the PVUSD. It is continuously recognized as one of Arizona’s most excelling schools and was recognized as the Best School for Technology In the August 2010 issue of Phoenix Magazine. The middle school is also currently rated a “10” on GreatSchools.org for the school’s outstanding academic achievement. Explorer Middle School feeds into Pinnacle High School.
Explorer is led by Principal Barbara Newman, her goal for each year is “is to develop and foster relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff while keeping academic achievement and student safety as my top priorities.” Two counsellors are also available to help and serve the students with their academic, personal and social needs.
Explorer MS offers students diverse and innovative learning opportunities. The staff recognizes that students need to explore a variety of courses and interests to develop their talents and gifts.
