It’s time to sign up for preschool!
This time of year brings stress to all families of a preschool aged child. Some of the popular North Scottsdale preschools have/will begin registration for the 2012-2013 school year. To those parents who are determined to get a spot at one of this highly sought after Scottsdale preschools, one may arrive at 2a.m. to get in line for doors opening to enroll at 9:00. I am one who can understand this mindset as I have done this more than a couple times myself.
When my oldest daughter was ready to start preschool, I researched and visited many preschool choices in Cave Creek, Carefree, North Phoenix: Tatum Ranch homes, Desert Ridge real estate, North Scottsdale and Paradise Valley. I was determined to find a rich learning environment for my little one. When you find the preschool that fits your hopes, you almost feel as if you have won a prize. It was La Casa de Cristo Preschool in Scottsdale which was the chosen spot. All this transpired in 2004 and I observed my daughter happily enjoy 2 wonderful years at La Casa. Following, I again experienced 2 more years with my second daughter. Then, here I sit thinking about the past 3 years enjoyed by my third daughter. I couldn’t be more thankful for all the learning and hugs over the past 7 years. I, along with my daughters, met some of my closest friends at preschool over the years. Amazing how time flies…I feel like I was just in the parking lot, waiting at 2 a.m. nervously thinking of sending my first baby to 2.5 hours of preschool! I never knew that wait would give me 7 years of great memories.
Now, planning for Kindergarten…this will be my next blog, stay tuned!
***I’d like to mention a past client and now a wonderful friend to me opened Montessori of Surprise a few years ago. It is a magical place to learn and if you live in the west valley, add this one to your list of tours!
