Scottsdale Preparatory Academy (SPA) opened its doors in 2007, and has been growing in size and reputation for the last couple of years. In 2011 they moved into a brand new 96,000 square foot learning facility that can hold 800 students, and caters to grades 5th through 12th. The emphasis of the schools teaching technique focuses on a Socratic Method in North Scottsdale Real Estate. This method cultivates critical and autonomous learning through teacher led discussions and readies students for college. SPA also believes the academic success of their students is directly attributed to smaller class sizes along with emphasis on pushing students to meet high expectations.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy prides itself on teaching students through a rigorous liberal arts curriculum with a small amount of electives. Each student in North Scottsdale Real Estate is required to take science every year with 9th through 12th graders taking Biology, Physics I, Physics II, and Chemistry. Mathematics courses start with pre-algebra in 6th grade and advance all the way to Calculus, which is a requirement for 11th and 12th graders. Humane Letters, which is the study of English and history in relation to each other, is taught from 9th through 12th grade. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy also requires Latin be taken every year from 5th through 8th grade, and for 9th graders to take advanced Latin or begin Spanish, French, or German.
Though academic achievement in strongly pushed the school is also concerned with the student as a whole and they have many athletic groups for students to participate in. These teams range from football, basketball, golf, and soccer to archery, ballroom dancing, and rock climbing.
