North Scottsdale’s Sequoya Elementary School, which serves K-5 in the Scottsdale Unified School District, is rated an Excelling school by the Department of Education. It serves families in North Scottsdale and Phoenix.
Sequoya is home of the Stallions, and is headed by Principal Dr. Bridget Braney. Dr. Braney helps to uphold the philosophy that, “Education should provide opportunities for all in a program to suit each individual child. Experiences should be academically challenging, wide in scope, child-centered and democratic, operating within a positive humanistic school climate. In meeting this commitment, Sequoya Elementary School is dedicated to promoting all phases of becoming life-long learners.” ~Scottsdale Unified School District.
Along with the strong academics and learning philosophy, the kids at this North Scottsdale Real Estate elementary school have loads of fun. They even have one of the children designated to happily wear the Stallion’s mascot costume on rally days. Every fall, they have a Western Round Up with a family BBQ dinner and games and crafts for the kids.
Family involvement is what sets apart Sequoya Elementary School. It is truly unique that this school has one of the highest percentage of parent volunteers in the District. Many parents that enroll their children from out of district say that the parent involvement is why they chose Sequoya.
The families that attend Sequoya Elementary School are proud to be part of an Excelling school, with strong parent involvement, and a fun atmosphere.
