It’s Friday night and I know that you you just don’t feel like cooking after a long week of work. There are so many wonderful places to eat in the Valley of the Sun but you just don’t want to go to another chain style restaurant, you want something a little different, unique. Nestled in the heart of North Scottsdale Homes for Sale is a fabulous steak house, you probably didn’t realize it was there because it is located at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa on Lincoln Drive. This modern American steakhouse is a new addition to the resort. After undergoing a $50 million renovation, chef Laurent Tourondel opened BLT, which does not stand for bacon, lettuce and tomato. Bistro Laurent Tourondel, serves up mouth-watering steaks of course but also does a fabulous job with it’s seafood selection. Start off your night with a lighter caesar salad, don’t want to fill up to much before your perfectly cooked Prime Porterhouse, or juicy bone in filet. With a choice of different sauces to go with your steak from peppercorn to a traditional bearnaise you will be left feeling very satisfied. Try to save a little room for some delectable desserts…I think caramelized cheesecake is a nice way to finish off a meal like this! Perfect place to eat with kids!
If you are looking for a meal along with a bit of history, then you may want to head up the road a bit to El Chorro. A long standing tradition in Arizona, located in Paradise Valley just south of the North Scottsdale Homes For Sale area, this restaurant has been around since 1937. Formerly a school house for girls, turned eatery that attracted stars and prominent figures, this restaurant went under a huge renovation project to modernize it. The new owners were very careful to keep the historical buildings in tact but make the facility much more earth friendly with solar panels and using recycled materials. Now let’s talk food, all meals come with their famous sticky buns….so yummy! The menu is a mix of traditional fare with a southwest influence. They have been serving up the chateaubriand for two and “classic” beef stroganoff forever. Why change tradition! This restaurant has beautiful view of Mummy Mountain and a wonderful outdoor patio with fireplaces, a great place to enjoy a cocktail on a cool night and watch the sun set.
Head a little further south on Scottsdale Road, into “old town” Scottsdale and you will find a real treat. The Sugar Bowl, has been around since 1958. With traditional diner type fare such as a tuna melt, grilled cheese and of course burgers, you are sure to find your comfort food here. Let’s face it though, we come to a place like this for the ice cream! With old fashioned sodas in flavors like vanilla, cherry and mint chocolate you’ll wish you wore your poodle skirt. Try their shakes or their huge selection of sundaes. This family friendly place in North Scottsdale Homes for Salewill leave you feeling like a kid again!
